Public profiles and content
Some account information and content may be public or visible to other users according to the privacy setting selected when it is published.
Public information may include:
- your username, profile name and profile image;
- your public biography and profile details;
- public posts, comments, reviews and reactions;
- public pages, groups, collections or contributions;
- follower, following or interaction information.
Private messages and communications
Private messages are stored and processed to deliver conversations between participants, maintain message history and provide relevant security and reporting features.
Valerimo does not routinely read private conversations. Access may occur only when reasonably necessary, including:
- when a participant reports a conversation or specific message;
- to investigate fraud, abuse or a serious security incident;
- to comply with a valid legal obligation;
- to resolve a technical problem affecting message delivery.
Users must not use private messaging for spam, harassment, fraud, illegal content or unauthorised commercial solicitation.
AI-related data and content
Valerimo may host information, discussions, prompts, guides and content relating to artificial-intelligence tools.
Unless expressly stated for a specific feature, publishing a prompt or discussing an AI service on Valerimo does not automatically send that content to the third-party AI provider concerned.
If Valerimo later integrates an external AI service, users will receive relevant information concerning the provider, purpose and data transfer before or when the feature is used.
Cookies and similar technologies
Necessary cookies
Valerimo uses essential cookies and local-storage technologies required for functions such as login sessions, security, language, interface preferences and account authentication.
These technologies are necessary to provide the service requested and cannot always be disabled through Valerimo settings.
Optional cookies
Audience measurement, personalisation, advertising or third-party media cookies will be activated only where permitted and, when required, after obtaining your consent.
You may accept, refuse or later modify optional cookie choices through the cookie-management tool when such cookies are used.
Browser controls
Your browser may allow you to delete or block cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login or cause parts of Valerimo to function incorrectly.
Additional details about individual cookies, providers and retention periods are available in the Cookie Policy.
Recipients of personal data
Personal data may be accessible to:
- authorised Valerimo administrators and moderators;
- users or visitors according to content visibility settings;
- hosting, infrastructure and backup providers;
- email-delivery and technical service providers;
- security, anti-spam and performance providers;
- payment providers if paid features are introduced;
- professional advisers where necessary;
- competent authorities when disclosure is legally required.
Service providers receive only the information reasonably necessary for their task and must process it under appropriate contractual, confidentiality and security obligations.
International data transfers
Valerimo aims to use European infrastructure whenever reasonably possible. Some service providers or third-party integrations may, however, process data outside the European Economic Area.
Where such a transfer occurs, Valerimo will rely on a legally recognised safeguard where required, such as:
- an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission;
- approved standard contractual clauses;
- another lawful transfer mechanism;
- an applicable legal exception in limited circumstances.
Information about a specific transfer may be requested through the contact details provided below.
Data-retention periods
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal, security and dispute-management requirements.
| Data category | Typical retention principle |
|---|---|
| Active account data | For the life of the account and while the service is used. |
| Published content | Until deleted by the user or removed under platform rules, subject to backups and legal retention. |
| Private messages | While retained by conversation participants or as required for security, reports or legal obligations. |
| Security and connection logs | For a limited period proportionate to security, fraud prevention and legal requirements. |
| Support requests | For the time needed to resolve the request and manage any resulting dispute. |
| Moderation records | For as long as reasonably necessary to enforce rules, prevent repeated abuse and handle appeals. |
| Consent records | For the period required to demonstrate the user's choices. |
| Backups | Temporarily until the relevant backup cycle is overwritten. |
Some information may be retained longer where required by law, necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or needed to prevent serious abuse and account-ban circumvention.
Data security
Valerimo applies technical and organisational safeguards proportionate to the nature of the service and identified risks.
These measures may include:
- encrypted HTTPS connections;
- password hashing and protected authentication;
- server, firewall and access-control measures;
- restricted administrative access;
- security logs and abuse monitoring;
- software maintenance and vulnerability correction;
- backups and incident-recovery procedures;
- confidentiality obligations for authorised personnel.
No online system can guarantee absolute security. Users must also protect their password, devices and email account and should report suspected unauthorised access promptly.
Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, you may exercise the following rights:
Right of access
Obtain confirmation and information concerning personal data processed about you.
Right to rectification
Correct inaccurate data and complete information that is incomplete.
Right to erasure
Request deletion when the legal conditions for erasure are met.
Right to restriction
Request temporary limitation of certain processing operations.
Right to object
Object to processing based on legitimate interests in circumstances recognised by law.
Right to portability
Receive eligible data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
Withdraw consent
Withdraw consent at any time for future processing based on that consent.
Instructions after death
Where French law applies, define instructions concerning personal data after death.
How to exercise your rights
Send your request to contact@valerimo.com or use the official Contact page. Clearly describe the right you wish to exercise and identify the account concerned.
Valerimo may request reasonable proof of identity where necessary to prevent disclosure or deletion of data belonging to another person. Any requested proof will be used only to verify the request.
Requests are handled within the period required by applicable law. Complex or repeated requests may require an extension where legally permitted, in which case the requester will be informed.
Account deletion
You may request account deletion through available account settings or by contacting Valerimo.
Account deletion may result in removal or anonymisation of profile information and content associated exclusively with that account. Certain information may remain temporarily or longer where:
- it is present in a backup awaiting scheduled deletion;
- another user must retain part of a conversation history;
- retention is necessary for security or fraud prevention;
- retention is required by law;
- information is needed to establish or defend a legal claim;
- content has been lawfully reshared or anonymised.
Deleting an account does not automatically remove content copied or independently retained by third parties before deletion.
Privacy of minors
Valerimo is not intended for children under the age of 16 and does not knowingly seek to collect their personal data through user accounts.
If you believe that a child under 16 has created an account or provided personal data, contact Valerimo so that the situation can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.
A higher minimum age may apply where required by the law of the user's country.
Third-party services and embedded content
Valerimo may display links, videos, widgets, social-media content, AI tools or other resources provided by third parties.
When you open an external link or activate embedded content, the third party may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser data. Its own privacy policy then applies.
Valerimo does not control the independent processing activities of third-party providers. Users should review their privacy terms before creating accounts, submitting prompts, uploading documents or purchasing services.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes to Valerimo, service providers, technologies, legal requirements or privacy practices.
The effective date and version shown at the top identify the current Policy. Where a change materially affects registered users, Valerimo may provide notice through the platform, by email or using another appropriate method.
Previous versions may be retained where necessary to document the information provided to users at a particular time.
